Before surgery, I was in a depression state, always in my room, eating a lot, a lot of health issues. I had GERD. I would rush to the ER at night thinking I was having a heart attack but it was just anxiety attacks. It affected me at work as well because I wouldn’t be able to sleep at night. I tried working out and following diets at first, cut carbs and I would follow the program for two week and then after two weeks, I would fail. I also tried Phentermine pills but then after I stopped taking them, I went all the way back to 250 pounds. So it was in one of those visits at the ER that they recommended me to see a gastroenterologist for my stomach because I thought I had something major going one. He suggested why not a surgery. He recommended me with Dr. Malladi. I feel she was very professional and very honest. She gave me different options. I feel more comfortable with the fact that she is a female. I forgot about her being a doctor, I was just opening up to someone who made me feel comfortable.
It’s been 4 years since I got my gastric sleeve, and I have lost 139 pounds. I feel so great about myself. The lack of energy went away, the GERD went away. I feel great about myself. The fun part about this is that I am able to actually hike without running out of breath. I love doing sports. I love shopping. I went from a size 22 to a size 2 and now I have more options and it’s great. I would definitely recommend Dr. Malladi, she was always there through the whole process, and I love my decision.
