Join the ASMBS Foundation’s Dallas Walk from Obesity 10-27-18

 

Take steps to promote a healthy lifestyle and fight obesity at the upcoming ASMBS Foundation’s Walk from Obesity! The event will take place on White Rock Creek Trail in Dallas on Saturday, October 27th rain or shine.  Register online with a donation of $25 or more, or at the event for $35.

Check in will be from 8am to 9am at City Hospital @ White Rock at 9440 Poppy Drive in Dallas. The walk begins at 9am and is a fun, non-competitive “set your own pace” event at which you may walk (or run) as much or as little as you would like.

Bring the Family!

You may participate for a $25 or more donation and children under 12 may participate for free with a registered parent or guardian.  There will be other activities for the whole family until 12 noon!  Walk participants will receive the official Walk from ObesitySM T-shirt at the event.

Walk from ObesitySM is a national walk-a-thon event that takes place in communities all over the United States to raise awareness about obesity.  The program raises money to fund obesity research also serves to educate the public about the disease and treatment options.

The event is a fun, family-oriented event for those who are struggling with the condition, those who have successfully overcome obesity, and those who want to support others in their journey and the battle against obesity in general.

Fundraising Information

Funds raised from the Walk from ObesitySM support the American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery Foundation’s mission to fund obesity education, research, and access to quality treatment.  Those participating in the Walk are encouraged to ask friends, family and colleagues to support their efforts by donating and attending the event.
