Jordan’s Story – Gastric Sleeve Patient
Life before was a little challenging. I have two children, 9 and almost 3. I wasn’t able to like play with them as much. I couldn’t keep up. It was kind of laborious. Obesity runs in my family and my father ended up being almost 500 pounds. So when I was about 10 years old, my father had gastric bypass. It drastically changed in life for the better. He was actually able to do things with me and take me on vacations after that. As I grew, I was still just like heavy my whole life, and I got to be about 25 and started looking into it. I got pregnant so I couldn’t have the surgery. Had my baby and I had gotten up to even more that I weighed before, and I was like ok I have to do it now. I have to get it done. I have to be healthy for my kids. I didn’t want to get up to where my dad was.That just scared the complete daylights out of me. So I had done a lot of research online to find Dr. Malladi. She was just so kind the whole time. She asked me if I was leaning toward a specific surgery. She explained them both to me in great detail. She actually recommended that I have the gastric sleeve because of my age. I was younger.
I am about 9 and a half months out now. I have lost a little over 65 pounds. I am so happy that I had the gastric sleeve. I wish I had done it sooner. It was the best decision that I could have ever made.
